39 Weeks

39 weeks is such a long time.

We met in the park, I was out for a run,
Your brother and I had so much fun.
I watched you grow, felt you moving about,
Loved you so deeply without any doubt.

Held in my arms as I pulled you in near,
Patted you gently so you knew I was here,
Rocked you slowly as you lay there and slept,
Kissed your wet cheek from the tears that I wept.

Stroked your nose and your chin so you felt my touch,
Breathed in your ear that you were loved so much,
Pulled you in close to keep you warm,
Till we meet again on a bright summer dawn.

39 weeks is such a short time.
