About Katie Robinson

Katie has loved sci-fi since forever, Dr Who (on a black and white TV) being her first exposure, swiftly followed by anything that was shown, but it wasn’t until she left school that she started reading fiction for recreation.

Katie’s favourite authors are Doc EE Smith, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C Clarke, and Orson Scott Card

Katie became interested in writing fiction when she was 35 years old, and has written over 40 short stories

Some of these were published on ASSTR in 2010 under two pen names –
Katie has 8 stories and Shelly has 7 stories

CAUTION – many of these stories feature adult themes, and are most definitely Not Safe For Work. If you would like to read excerpts from these works then please use the Contact Us link above.

NaNoWriMo took Katie’s interest in 2014 and she has completed 3 annual main events and 9 of the less intense Camp NaNo events.

Katie is an engineer by trade but moved into computing after 20 years to take a position in a cancer hospital as part of the UK’s National Health Service, staying for 10 years, then moving into a financial services company for another 20 years. She likes to stick around when she’s enjoying herself.

Finally, in October 2018, Katie retired and has been able to put a bit more time and effort into her writing.

She lives in Leeds, West Yorkshire, but was born and raised in Doncaster.

She’s married to a wonderful wife, who Katie says deserves far better than herself. They have two amazing daughters, and four of the most awe-inspiring grandchildren anyone could wish for.

Road running is how she keeps fit, taking part in her local weekly Parkrun, and competing in 4 races each year.
