My Review
The concept of a pleasure slave that no-one wanted to buy for 30 years was quite intriguing. The world of Atlaind was beautifully constructed and quite believable in its structure and society. There were very few mistakes in the writing, none of which were distracting, and I only picked up on them because as an author myself I have my own inner editor.
I enjoyed the plot as it developed, with enough twists to keep me turning pages. The genre of this book is Fantasy Erotica, and the sex scenes were just as well written as all the others, with an engaging story that is quite often missing in erotica. The sex is quite intense, which puts it in the adult only group, so don’t expect Mills and Boon, or even Fifty Shades. This is so much better. The level of excitement is even kept high in scenes that don’t have any sex in them.
Zsash, the main character, was my favourite, clever, funny, and kind-hearted, but always getting himself into trouble. Why doesn’t he learn to keep his mouth shut?
This is Christian Kennedy’s first novel, and there are 7 more planned, which I am looking forward to. I have added it to my Need More of the Same shelf on Goodreads.
I’d recommend this book to anyone interested in well-constructed fantasy worlds and/or erotica and is reasonably broadminded.
